Why should I use Concorde Teaching Bank for my supply needs?

We’ve been working closely with Primary and Secondary schools since 1997. We understand that our schools want us to provide the best teachers with minimal fuss meaning you can leave the worry of filling gaps in cover to us.

Does that mean you always provide subject specialists?

Wherever possible we’ll provide qualified specialists with experience in their field so that you can continue to provide the best opportunities to your pupils

Do you conduct checks on Teaching Staff?

Most definitely, as we are regulated under guidelines laid down by the REC we conduct a series of checks and hold a current DBS certificate, along with references for each candidate. We know you need to be 100% sure that individuals who work on school grounds are reliable and free from previous problems.

What happens if I want to take them on permanently?

Due to the quality of our supply staff this happens a lot! We are always competitive on price and if they’ve been with you over 26 weeks, they’re free!

So where do your profits go?

We are part of Cornwall College Group; so quite uniquely, all of our profits actually go back into the education system.

I already have an agency I use, why should I change?

We really want to give you access to the very best Teaching staff available and you can only be sure that you have that by considering all options. We have a number of great teachers that have been working solely on our books for years available to you. Please give us a call for more details.

What legal protection does Concorde Teaching Bank offer if we employ their candidates?

We adhere to a strict REC and compliance policy to ensure that all of our customers are protected by the latest employment legislation. Since 1 October 2011, all agency workers who have completed a 12 week qualifying period with a hirer are entitled to treatment equal to that of the hirer’s own workers in respect of pay and basic working conditions. The Employment Agency (i.e. Concorde Recruitment) is responsible for ensuring equal treatment is provided. In order to be able to do this properly, we need to liaise with all clients to find out what the relevant conditions are.

Teacher Questions

I am a Newly Qualified Teacher; will that mean I won’t get many bookings because I’m not as experienced as others?

Definitely not! We often find that Schools are keen to support NQT’s and are happy to give them every opportunity to gain experience.

I’m interested in permanent jobs rather than temporary

Then think about this as a job search! The vast majority of our placements are initially temporary but our schools do take on Teachers they really like once they’ve had a chance to get to know them! It’s also a great opportunity for you to get to know local schools and decide which ones you would be most comfortable in.

But what if I can’t do full time because of life commitments?

We understand that the very reason some teachers choose to do supply is that they want flexibility and we are happy to cater to that. We’ll be careful to work out with you when you can work and do our best to keep you busy when you want to be.

Why should I register with Concorde Teaching bank?

We’ve been supplying Primary and Secondary schools since 1997 and continue to cover the teaching needs of the vast majority locally meaning you can be confident we’ll be able to find you regular bookings
