Well, up to a point.

It’s what you’re like that matters most: working for us, you can’t get away from people. The businesses we work with, the candidates we place, your colleagues: wall-to-wall people.

You’ll chat to apprentice plumbers, present to CEOs and head teachers, craft nuanced emails, network at trade events, be a team player, a self-motivator, a bit of a performer and a people-watcher too. From building site to boardroom and all points between, you’ll modify and adapt your demeanour and language so that you look and sound like a perfect fit for any environment.

You’ll also need to be decent, honest and accountable.

You can communicate beautifully (and honestly), go the extra mile (without charging double), and instinctively do the right thing (without wondering what’s in it for you).

From first thing in the morning and just as you are leaving: when you’re fresh and when you’re flagging. We want good people who want to work hard and earn excellent money.

What are you like?

If you’re as friendly and approachable as you are confident and selfmotivated, we’d love to hear from you.

If you can think and plan ahead, communicate beautifully, and listen to others’ ideas while still conveying yours clearly, then we could really be on to something.

At Concorde you can expect an excellent basic with unlimited potential to earn and progress via a clear career pathway. You will use your exceptional people skills to make and maintain contact with employers, accurately assess candidates and match them to employers’ needs, keep and constantly update a register of candidates while continually developing your knowledge of the labour market.

The role involves a high level of responsibility, both to plan and prioritise your own workload, as well as to keep on top of admin, help with marketing and promotion and represent the company locally and nationally.

We’re looking for trainees, consultants and experienced recruitment professionals who are happy to commute into Truro. (We offer some hybrid working too!) You’ll need your own transport and a clean licence, too, as sometimes you’ll be visiting other locations.

Here’s what you have to bring …

  • Exceptional time management and diary planning skills and effective use of daily ‘to-do’ lists
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients through a clear understanding of their needs
  • Experience that allows an effective response to a wide range of interpersonal, telephone and written enquiries from a varied client base
  • A sound knowledge of modern office procedures, practices and equipment

… and here are some nice-to-haves:

  • Previous experience of CRM systems
  • Experience in (or knowledge of) KPIs
  • Experience in (or knowledge of) training or marketing
  • Ability to manage and organise mail shot and email campaigns

…and these are our must-haves for more experienced people.

  • B2B sales experience and knowledge
  • Recruitment industry knowledge
  • Proven ability to identify and generate new business opportunities and maximise revenue potential
  • Ability to interview and assess candidates using questioning techniques and interviewing skills
  • General knowledge of employment procedures and current legislation
  • Ability to negotiate contract terms
  • Ability to understand and write attractive copy to advertise vacancies
  • Ability to compile tender documents

Your written and verbal literacy must not only be excellent, but also flexible, and responsive enough to accommodate communications of all kinds, at all levels, with a wide range of people.

We’d like to see demonstrable competence in Word, Excel and Outlook, and some knowledge of CRM systems and / or database systems would be nice too. Of course, you’ll be numerate, able to conduct online research and, crucially, a persuasive influencer, proven problem-solver and clear-headed decision-maker.

The jobs as they stand involve no management of others. But as you and the business grow, it might, in which case having that aptitude will prove useful (both to you and to us).
