Our Safeguarding and Compliance Standards

Safeguarding is at the very heart of Concorde Teaching Bank. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education, including the supplementary advice relating to checks for people working with children under the age of 8.

We undertake the following checks:

  • Identity
  • Barred List
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure (and overseas police check where applicable)
  • Prohibition from teaching orders (NCTL)
  • Childcare Disqualification Declaration (including Disqualification by Association)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • References and employment history
  • Qualifications & Qualified Teacher Status

We make it easy for you to administer the safeguarding process required by Ofsted and the DfE statutory guidance:

  • Our email booking confirmation provides details of the checks we have undertaken on your worker in a format to enable you to complete your Single Central Record.
  • Our email booking confirmation also contains a photo of the candidate, so you can confirm the identity of the person who arrives against their original photo ID.
  • At any time, you can review the safeguarding information history for your past bookings through your online Client Lounge account, and download or print any relevant records.

If you are working in education it is important that you keep yourself up to date with DfE statutory guidance (Keeping Children Safe in Education) and the practicalities of child protection in schools.  We strongly recommend that all our supply workers undertake these short, online courses:

Child Protection in Education
This online course from Educare covers the fundamentals of safeguarding and protection in an education setting and is important for anyone that works with children and young people. The purpose is to raise awareness of abuse, neglect and other harms, recognise early signs that might indicate a problem, and how to take appropriate action.

COMPLIANCE

We are regulated under guidelines laid down by the REC, and as such we conduct a series of checks and hold a current DBS certificate, along with references for each candidate. We know you need to be 100% sure that individuals who work on school grounds are reliable and free from previous problems.

We adhere to a strict REC and compliance policy to ensure that all of our customers are protected by the latest employment legislation. Since 1 October 2011, all agency workers who have completed a 12 week qualifying period with a hirer are entitled to treatment equal to that of the hirer’s own workers in respect of pay and basic working conditions.
