We are seeking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic and dynamic candidate with the ‘wow’ factor to join a high performing and highly regarded academy. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and forward thinking Leadership Team whilst gaining a unique role in Camborne Science and International Academy’s specialist centre for the most able. You will have exceptional leadership qualities with a real capacity to inspire, motivate, enthuse and support colleagues and students. You will be passionate about ensuring all students have an outstanding educational experience and achieve their potential. The successful candidate will work with other senior colleagues to ensure Nexus at all times continues to offer an inspiring, challenging and cutting edge curriculum across all key stages, including the transition and co-curricular programme. You will be involved in liaising and working closely with many educational stakeholders. Above all you will be a team player who is highly motivated and wishes to join an ambitious team. Whilst we are not seeking any specific specialism, an ability to offer a STEM subject would be of interest.

Both Nexus and Cornwall School of Maths and Science are unique facilities on a separate, state-of-the-art campus that offers students who are especially able in Science, Technology and Mathematics or literacy and arts based subjects a chance to thrive and shine in their chosen field of study through a bespoke curriculum designed to engage and challenge gifted learners. Alongside this specially designed curriculum, students experience a rich co-curricular programme that complements the curriculum and deepens and develops the scholarship of these students. The aim is to develop young learners who are able to pick and choose from the best courses at the very best universities worldwide; young people who have a wealth of research experience from working with some of the best academics in their field of interest. These young people will be amongst those who devise the solutions for the most pressing problems faced by mankind, and this provision will equip them for this bright future.
The school has developed exceptional International Science and Mathematics links with top schools in the Japan, Singapore, Thailand, China, South Korea, Australia and Canada. Recent collaboration has involved joint research projects, International Science and Mathematics fairs and competitions, as well as many significant student/staff visits and exchanges. The successful appointee will be encouraged to participate in this amazing and unique programme. We are a PiXL school.
